The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team is recruiting new members, stating no experience is required.

This follows a fourth consecutive monthly decline in search and rescue missions, with June showing the lowest activity since 2026 began. The office reported a continued decrease in the months of April and May as well.

Residents may see fewer emergency responses but should note that the team remains active. The office has not specified a target number for new recruits or deadlines for applications.
