Twenty-one people were arrested in Snohomish County this week in a multi-agency operation targeting child exploitation, according to Washington State Patrol reports. The operation, named Operation Guardian, involved the WSP Missing and Exploited Children Task Force and resulted in nearly 400 arrests since 2015. The Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will review cases for charges.
State Patrol investigators are seeking public help identifying a red Jeep involved in a June 29 drive-by shooting on SR 509 near Cloverdale. A Dodge Ram pickup driver reported being shot at by a male passenger in the Jeep. The suspect vehicle had two women inside and fled south on the highway. State fire resources were mobilized to support firefighting efforts on the Lambdin Fire in Walla Walla County. The 1,500-acre fire started June 29 and is threatening homes and power infrastructure. Level 3 evacuations are in effect, and the fire cause is under investigation. The State Emergency Operations Center is at Level 2 activation.
